The more we exercise them, the more we conform -- in reflection and feeling -- to Dick else who uses them.The Dimwit' s Dictionary is a compilation of thousands of dimwitticisms (cliches, colloquialisms, idioms, and the like) that multitude address and inscribe excessively. Many of the entries in this book are followed by synonyms that may be worn in point of the worn-out chat or phrase, and by sentence examples enchanted from a miscellany of publications; others are followed by commentary; and still others by both. But level the mere inclusion of an entrance -- that is, lone unaccompanied by synonyms or commentary -- damns it as a dimwitticism. The Dimwit' s Dictionary will facilitate us in our quest representing more purposeful diction and script. The goal is to promote understanding and rouse multitude to performance.
